How to play
The Subnetting Game is simple. You are given a variety of questions to answer. Each question is a subnetting problem. Your task is to read the question, and then answer it by typing in your answer.
Different Types of Questions
There are three types of questions in the game, that you can disable or enable:
- Slash notation -> Subnet mask: You are given a slash notation ranging from 1 to 32. You will need to determine the subnet mask.
- Subnet mask -> Slash notation: You are given a subnet mask in dotted decimal notation. You will need to determine the slash notation.
- Needed amount of networks: You are given a number of networks. You must determine the subnet mask that would best fit the number of networks given.
- Needed amount of hosts: You are given a number of hosts. You must determine the subnet mask that would best fit the number of hosts given. notation. You need to determine the broadcast address.
Different Gamemodes
There are three different gamemodes in the game:
- Standard mode: You are given 30 questions. Your rank will be based on how much time you take to complete all 30.
- Zen mode: You are given unlimited questions. You will still be timed, but rank is not based on your time taken, but how many questions you do.
Rank System
The rank system is based on what gamemode, and how much time you take to complete the questions. The rank system is as follows:
- Standard mode:
- S: Completed all 30 questions in 10 minutes or less
- A: Completed all 30 questions in 10-20 minutes
- B: Completed all 30 questions in 20-30 minutes
- C: Completed all 30 questions in 30-50 minutes
- D: Completed all 30 questions in 50 minutes or more
- Zen mode:
- S: Completed at least 30 questions
- A: Completed at least 20 questions
- B: Completed at least 10 questions
- C: Completed at least 5 questions
- D: Completed less than 5 questions
